Ph.D. candidate Eva Laplace still has to finish her Ph.D. thesis (on how stars stripped in binaries end their lives and explode), but already knows where she will start next fall as a postdoc. After a very hard choice between prize fellowships in Stockholm and at ESO, she has chosen to continue her work in Heidelberg to join Fabian Schneider’s new ERC starting grant group. Eva plans to submit her thesis in the summer of 2021 and move in the early fall. While it will be very hard for us to see her go, we are also immensely proud of her and are sure that this is will be the right next step for her.
